Grateful

On my thirty first week of pregnancy, my new found friends here in Colorado gave me a baby shower. It was quite awkward and I felt like I was red beet shy all the time because really these folks didn't have to bother. None of my old friends were there because they had other businesses to take care of and besides they are also organizing a separate shower for me. Lucky me pancit canton!

I met the Hopes, the hosts, in my son's former school's parking lot a year ago. From there on, they have invited us to various parties at their home, including that of Pacquiao vs Hatton hehehe! Yes, we are all boxing fans! I have met their friends as well... mostly we talk about how to and what to cook, ie kakanins and whatnots. They are a very warm group!

And so, I had a shower yesterday which lasted for about six hours! That includes feasting on crackers, cheese, and cold cuts, down to a Filipino barrio fiesta, games, and then karaoke. My son had a blast playing with his friend (the hosts' son) unsupervised hehehe! The little ones pretty much had their own party as well =)

The games include that of guessing what type of baby food (carrots, sweat pea, sweet potato, and apple), guessing my waistline, changing diapers and milk drinking in a newborn bottle contest. All of which drove everyone laughing madly! Hehehe!!!

This is already my second pregnancy, but my first 'shower' shower. I've had a unique getaway before I had my little boy before. I think I'd prefer having a getaway to wherever (spa, beach, casino hehe!) than having a party where I am the center of everyone's attention. I would rather be the one preparing and hosting than being the celebrant. Perhaps, it's just me... but it doesn't mean I am not thankful.

I will be forever grateful for this experience... pero mauwawon lagi gyapon ko hehehe!

Thirty

Now, officially on my thirtieth week... 22lbs heavier, and lazier by the minute. The other night, we had Indian dinner take out and last night we ordered in pizza. Today we had the pizza leftovers and the frozen lumpia shanghai for dinner with laing in can! Nothing exciting about it, just trying to live by each day without starving myself and my family. I wish I have the energy spurts to do everything that I must do.

This weekend, will be full of housekeeping chores and whatnots to prepare every nook and cranny for the little one. I must be quick to what I need to do otherwise sweet sleep will catch up on me. I think can snooze just about anywhere and anytime these days.

Went to see my OB and discussed my birth plan. Well, I want to have a natural labor as much as possible if I can. So I will try to enjoy and endure early labor while at home. I will sleep, drink, eat, walk, take a shower, and cry (perhaps) in the comforts of my own bedroom. I just hope that by the time I need to go to the hospital I will still get the epidural if need be. Otherwise, I'd endure the wonders of childbirth in agony! LOL!

The husband and I reviewed through our lamaze handouts (from Maryland, expecting Akio) earlier this evening. He read it and gave me pointers even. Well between the two of us, he needs to have the presence of mind to distract me from my pain. Hehehe!!! It was fun to go through all that again, hee hee hoo!

My tummy's skin is itchy and sometimes painful like it's been stretched to its fullest. The baby is nesting on the right side, where stretchmarks from the past are abundant (where Akio used to settle as well). Every time she moves it's like my skin is being pulled. She doesn't have much room I know. I can see her rolling like waves. Every gentle kick and squirm makes my stomach tight which makes me uncomfortable especially when I am doing something. Although note that this baby's moves are still graceful way beyond what I felt when I was having my eldest.

I still pee like there is nothing else to do... especially at night hahay! I might as well camp in the toilet. I am running out of panties as we speak, which reminds me must do laundry tomorrow LOL! I am happy I don't have the vaginal and bladder infection this time around. It is not a pleasant experience to be uncomfortable down there!!!

Okay, must sleep now... long day ahead tomorrow.

TwentyNine

Twenty nine weeks in this picture... and now almost thirty weeks! I am getting heavier... I will know how much weight I have gained tomorrow. {I will make my birth plans with my OB and hopefully it will calm my nerves down} Yes, the weight has taken its toll on my back and pelvis. I cried myself to sleep one night but thought hey the world does not revolve around my every whim and every pain. I can't just wince and expect the entire world around me to stop and cradle to my comforts. I will have to suck it up and endure it until I will pop!

It's hard to eat a lot as much as I want to. No space anymore. If I indulge I suffer the consequences of heartburn and whatnots. Might as well snack throughout the day to keep me filled every two hours.

Baby squirms in a different time now and rolls like waves. I guess she has no space as well hehehe!!! I've been having braxton hicks which sometimes scare the wits out of me. I can't be in labor this early, oh not yet.

Funny thing, yesterday I just dozed off while waiting for Akio at school. My snores woke me up thrice! Goodness gracious! I felt my throat vibrating with that awful sound! Kauwaw uy! LOL! All I can think now is just lie down and sleep. I can't really stand for a long time. I have become a lazy whale. Waaah! Kapoy na!

And as I type this I got a text from Normita she just gave birth to a baby girl!!! =)

Almost

I am now on my 29th week, eleven more weeks and baby will pop soon. That is if she can wait until her due date... A part of me is wishing she'd be born on April, so we share the same birth month. At the same time, I wish I'd be over this soon. The 'weights' and woes my third trimester is getting me at some days. I am overly lazy and almost always sleepy. I feel like my belly is controlling my life. The chores, I know should be damned... but really, who am I kidding? Who picks up after me? NO ONE! So I better just do things slowly whenever I can. The energy spurts have long been gone, too bad I wasn't able to accomplish the projects I intended to do on my second trimester.

Mentally checking my to do list, I have so many un-checked, undone. I have to manage my time and myself well. Waaah! I promise and announced to my husband that next weekend we are going to do our early spring cleaning before baby arrives. I still would like to scrub the bathrooms and the toilets, and everything in its proper place... at least before baby comes I will have a househelp who will assist me before and after I pop for a month.

Not complaining, but it is getting harder to sleep at night. Baby moves a lot between 1-4am, dancing, squirming, rolling, and whatnot! I am at my sleepy mode in the mornings, and at around 7pm. Good thing I stay home, I think I'd pass out if I have to go out and work all day at an office.

My tiny little wonder, I can't wait to hold you! Every time you kick me I can sense your itching to come out too. Let's both be patient dearest one =)

Nursery

Today, our little family was busy preparing for the little munchkin's room. We have decided that Kuya will move to the loft where all his books, toys, and whatnots are. Baby will own his room with the dresser and changing table. The husband assembled the crib inside the room, I took out the baby toys and disinfected it in preparation for the munchkin's arrival, while Kuya was busy tinkering with his old stuffs and helping out as much as he can.

I need to get crib railing covers because the paint chipped off which may not be very safe for baby. I also need to put the beddings in place and wash the layettes and blankets so everything is ready before the big day. Need to remove Thomas the Train stickers from the wall and post the Winnie d Pooh and friends on the wall for the little one's amusement in the future.

Everything is recycled from Kuya's old nursery, except for the wallpaper border which we didn't bring with us when we moved to Colorado. I don't think I need anything more than what I have now.

Ah, can't wait!!!

Holidaze

In two weeks of feasting and just slacking, I gained five pounds! So at almost 28 weeks, I am now at 120lbs. I was hoping I'd only gained 25lbs throughout the entire pregnancy, but no! Unless it's possible to only gain 5lbs in 12 weeks woh! Hahaha!!!

TwentySeven

I walk like a duck now, waddle, waddle, legs apart, bump ahead, while holding my pelvis. I can't wait to pop! Oh the little munchkin kicks like she's on sugar high!!! It's funny seeing my tummy deform before my very eyes as she swims and squirms inside... it tickles, sometimes it hurts like crazy, although I still think her kicks are still graceful and gentle versus my first pregnancy. Let us just see how this holds true in the weeks to come.

I pee more than five times at night! It's exhausting... it has been very difficult to stand up with my left pelvis pain. And now I pant and feel like drowning when I'm lying in bed. Last night, I slept on the floor with a twin size mattress (with the hub), we can still fit LOL! It was way better to crawl on the floor while gathering strength to be on my feet to go the toilet.

I have lost that appetite again. Maybe because I feel full right away and the movements of the baby makes me nauseous sometimes. But if I am in front of lechon kawali, pot roast, and whatnot I'd gobble it up like there's no tomorrow hahaha!!! Then afterwards, I'd be needing tums hehehe =)
