Nausea

Isn't it odd to feel nausea at this point? Baby is going to be thirteen weeks in a couple of days but it feels like I am just starting with my pregnancy with the bouts of nausea throughout the day. It is disabling and frustrating not to enjoy a meal. I easily get full, err sometimes I'd gag after a few spoonfuls. I wonder if it has something to do with the phlegm brewing due to my cough and colds. Ay, whatever it is I don't like it.

Finally got a back rub for half an hour, despite its excruciating pain it was comforting! All that walking around the mall proves to be helpful for my back and hip. I should take note of this routine. Weekly back massage and daily walking to help me manage this ordeal.

A little pampering or a bit too much? I went shopping yesterday for dresses and workout clothes, and red maryjanes. Too much shopping is hazardous to my health! I felt like having a heart attack looking at the receipts and my lower abdomen was cramping with too much standing. Now, I am convinced that I am having a girl... hehehe!!!

Crossing

I am now on my twelfth week, little beanie is now three months old! I am happy to crossover to the second trimester. I will find out this week if the hemorrhage is gone (or if it progressed, heaven forbid) and if I have gestational diabetes. According to my doctor, there is glucose challenge at an earlier stage for women with diabetic history in the family. This way, diet restrictions will prevent a full blown diabetes.

My left hip and left back pain are due to a mild scoliosis. The physiatrist (rehab doctor) told me he cannot measure the curve because I cannot have an xray done. I will be going for some PT sessions for exercises and electronic massage to help the muscle spasms. I need to be active and need to go swimming. SIGH! This is really a different pregnancy altogether! I hope these sessions and exercises will help me manage the pain as I gain more weight!!!

I am happy that I didn't gain a single pound in two weeks! Yay! After weeks of pigging out in Manila, at the beach resort, malls, and wherever I was scared that I may have gained 5kg! LOL! I would really want to just gain two pounds a month, if I can help it hehehehe!!!

I got my bump alright! Although I know the upper tummy is purely stored fats prior to pregnancy... it gives me great pleasure to confirm my pregnancy when someone asks. I am wearing baby doll dresses... been wearing them since I got here in Cebu. They're comfortable and light, perfect for the humid weather. I also bought bigger size undergarments (and I think I need to get a bigger one again!)...

My boobs are heavy and firm. It feels like I am already engorged at this stage. I wonder if a breastpump can relieve me from such pain nge!

I feel so pregnant already! I am happy... baby is thriving, I have been feeling little bubbles from my lower abdomen. It is like a gurgling sound that lasts about two seconds. I enjoy it. I can't wait to really feel the baby move and do back flips. I can't wait to hear its heartbeat from the doppler, it was still fussy when my doctor tried to listen it a few days ago.

I have decided not to find out my baby's gender. I know I am having a little girl. I am quite tired of people - quasi friends, almost strangers - telling me "mayta" girl na noh! Must be my hormones.

Gain

So I went back to see my OB and guess what, I gained two kilograms in a week just because I did nothing but rest and eat!!! That explains why my underpants feel so tight... I need to get a set of new comfy ones so I can breathe well. I am still on medication, but now allowed to be up on my feet as long as I take it easy. Yey! Will be heading to Manila this week, and boy I'm so not looking forward to the chaos there. Sige na lang kuyog man ang hinigugma! ;-)

Baby is officially now a fetus at ten weeks! Almost all critical developments are complete! She is now about more than an inch long and "can swallow and is starting to kick up a storm"... I wonder if I'm imagining the bubbles in my lower abdomen... is it the baby moving or I'm just gassy? Hehehe!!!

Round ligament pains are very prominent. I can bear it though but it's not too comfortable. My left hip pain which I've had since I gave birth to Kuya is back. I guess the hormones made my pelvis joints softer. So tempting to get a full massage! Perhaps I should get one or maybe one of those ultrasonic massage at the physical therapist. Hmmm!!!

Nausea started two days ago, just when I am about to enter my second trimester. (Mabdos tingay ko noh?)

I love my OB here. She's young and cool! Plus, the clinic is very accessible. I can actually imagine giving birth here because of her (that's a good sign). It's so awesome to be able to speak to your doctor in Cebuano hehehe!
