Two

My new cheekybum is almost two months old! Time really just went by especially when I was stuck in my own world nursing and recovering the wound from childbirth -- a quite traumatic and painful one. After having to make sure he's warm and fed, he has grown to be a chunky hunky milk monster. Yes, he feeds quite often despite the formula which they say would keep him full for a longer time -- ah NOT!

In a few days, I will be able to get back into my exercise routine if I can muster the strength and diligence required to lose my baby weight. Although I think, little king here helps me a lot to lose those chubs including my wits sometimes. He still wakes up twice at nights and squirms and wants to be rocked and held often.

He now can support his body with his two little feet when standing up. He can even make a few steps until he complains hehehe! Oh how odd it is to see his big head on top of his tiny body LOL! I am still waiting for his real smiles and giggles when he's awake. He seems to be having a lot of those while asleep. Oh he makes a lot of sounds now -- aaah, uh, grgrggr. One night he yelled "aaah-mah!" which melted my heart, but of course it was just one incident.

Little boy Miro, a party will be thrown in your honor. For your safe and healthy delivery despite coming out rather early... and for the gift of life, you our little miracle =)

Miro

What's in a name? Oh well, misconstrued quite often as a Japanese name but it's not.
  • in Latin, it means "to wonder";
  • it's also a New Zealand conifer used for lumber and carpentry; and
  • a famous surrealist Spanish painter Joan Miro
It's of European descent. If you google it, there are quite a number of hits that would take you to a software program, a soccer player, a performing arts group, and a Bulgarian pop star. It is also a shorter version of Miroslav which means peace and glory in Slavic.

Bottle

Every time you suck on that bottle, I feel that guilt pinching my motherhood wits. I know you still want me, you need your organic pacifier... but I am sorry there's nothing much for you to enjoy. I hope you feel the love I pour into washing and sterilizing your bottles, boiling water for your formula, and getting up to fix your milk.

Now, you're fussier than ever. I don't know what to do when you spit up. Had you been breastfed you may not have reflux (perhaps). I don't know what comforts you... I hope we will figure it out soon. We can change your bottles or your formula. Then maybe it might be your colds and post nasal drip.

Oh dear Miro, you will always have this special spot in my heart! You stare at me as if you know what I've been through. Little one, may you thrive and become a fine young boy! I can't wait to see you running around like mad in the house (no kidding).

I love you langlang!

Two

Today, my first day alone with my little precious boys. Not quite as insane as I expected. The ever supporting husband gave me quite a pep talk last night. I am happy I survived. Well, there are still clothes in the washer that needs to be dried and clothes to be folded and kept. I have enjoyed my time sorting out medical bills, making medical appointments, catching up with blogs and tv shows online... all these while the tiny one sleeps peacefully in between feedings and the big brother entertains himself with paper planes and Fisher Price's version of Lego (I forgot what it's called).

Now, I am listening to the 1990s pop and enjoying it so much while boiling water for pasta. Yes, pasta for dinner... efficient use of time and available ingredients from the pantry.

Tomorrow is another day, there are still lots of chores and errands to cross off of my list. As I've said my mind is still on maternity leave =)
